C22 alloy
HASTELLOY C-22 alloy
HASTELLOY C-22 alloy is a highly versatile Ni-Cr-Mo-W alloy with corrosion resistance superior to other Ni-Cr-Mo alloys including HASTELLOY C-276 alloy, HASTELLOY C-4 alloy and Alloy 625. Alloy C-22 offers exceptionally high resistance to pitting, crevice, and stress corrosion cracking at both low and high temperatures. Also, Alloy C-22 is highly resistant to oxidizing aqueous solutions including wet chlorine and to solutions containing nitric acid or oxidizing acids with chlorine ions.
C22 alloy summarized (UNSN06022)
- Nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy
- Resistant to oxidizing and non-oxidizing chemicals
- Higher resistance to oxidizing materials due to high chromium content
- Good weldability
- Easily fabricated into industrial components
- Used in reactors and heat exchangers
- This alloy is available in the form of sheets, strips, pipe and more
- This alloy can be used for many different applications. Examples include boilers or pipes where corrosion is highly undesirable, such as pharmaceutical companies or the petrochemical industry.
Product description Hastelloy CRA C-22 Alloy
Even when the process flow is alternately reducing and oxidizing, Alloy C-22 provides optimal resistance. This versatility makes Alloy C-22 the choice for systems with extremely varying aggressiveness. HASTELLOY C-22 alloy is used in flue gas desulphurization plants such as for the lining of flue gas ducts. In environmental engineering Alloy C-22 is used in agitators, heat exchangers, compressors and linings of spray systems. In the treatment of gases from the combustion of chemical, hospital and household waste, Alloy C-22 is used in valves, fans, agitators, etc. In pharmaceuticals, Alloy C-22 is used in multi purpose pressure filter dryers, reactors and centrifuges that minimize product contamination. In general, Alloy C-22 outperforms Alloy C-276 in virtually all of the above applications where oxidizing acidic halide environments are predominant. Alloy C-22 is both cold- and hot-deformable. The deformation temperature in hot forming is between 950 and 1230°C. The standard forming techniques can be applied. Due to the thermal stability of Alloy C-22 no heat treatment is required after welding.
